The Indonesian passport is ranked 70th among global passports, according to the Guide Passport Ranking Index. This ranking indicates how many countries the passport holder can access without first obtaining a visa jasa perpanjangan paspor.

It is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Indonesian subjects and their immediate family who are travelling for official purposes. It is valid for a period of one year and can be renewed at any time.

There are four types of passports in Indonesia: Regular, Ordinary, Electronic, and Diplomatic. Each type of passport is issued under different circumstances, with slight differences in the information embedded on them and the signatures of the bearer and the corresponding issuing authority.

Non-electronic ordinary passports depict signatures of both the bearer and the corresponding issuing agency manually done at the immigration office during an interview by an immigration officer. A later stamp of the corresponding authority logo is placed above the signatures.

Other than the standard non-electronic ordinary passports, there are two other types of passports which contain an electronic chip embedded in them: e-passports and e-cards. The e-passports are electronically embedded and no longer carry the signature of the bearer, although they still have an official later stamp of the corresponding issuing authority logo on them.

e-cards contain a digital chip with ten fingerprints and a face photograph, allowing them to be scanned by passport scanners. The e-cards do not need to be carried by their holders, and can also be used for identity checks when they are presented with their original passports at immigration offices around the world.

The e-cards have their own unique ID number and password. They also contain a downloadable travel itinerary, which allows them to be easily printed out from their electronic devices.

They are also very convenient, since they contain all the necessary information about the bearer that is required to be entered into a visa application at any country’s embassies and consulates around the world. Those who hold the e-passports can use them to get a visa at most airports in the world.

These cards are normally issued by Indonesian diplomatic missions abroad, or by the Consulate General in Surabaya or the Embassy in Bali. The e-cards are mainly used by foreign nationals residing in Indonesia, including U.S. citizens, but some others can use them for international travel.

For the e-cards, there is a fee of $125. Depending on the e-card type, this can be paid via cash or credit card, but the payment must be made in advance of the e-card being printed out.

In order to apply for a e-card, applicants must visit the Department of State website and download the appropriate form. They can then bring that completed form and all the other passport documents to the Clerk’s Office.
